NEW THIS YEAR: The MWIHC "CIT" Program!

Do you have a teenager who is interested in helping run this year's camp as a "Counselor in Training"?  CIT's will learn how to run events at camp and work with the younger kids in building the camp experience for all.  Our teens can be the future of the camp program - now is the time to get them involved on a greater level!

Look for the CIT sign-up form in the on-line registration form or e-mail midwestichild@comcast.net to get your teen involved.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What is it?

A. An annual camp held each Summer for families that have adopted from India and other countries who have an interest in exposing their kids to Indian culture and meeting and socializing with other families that have adopted (or are in the adoption process).

Q. Where is it?

A. For the last EIGHT years the camp has been held at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin.

Q. Where do all the attendees come from?

A. All over.  States represented include Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Missouri and even Alaska!

Q. How do we get involved?

A. Check out the newsgroup located at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mwihc/ and check back to this page for details.

Q. Who runs this event?

A. This is a 100% volunteer, non-profit enterprise run by the parents and children attending the camp.  As we set up the schedule of events, we will post a list of needed volunteer positions on this page - let anyone on the Steering Committee know if you would like to volunteer for any particular activity!

Q. Can I help organize the 2010 or 2011 Camps?

A. Absolutely!  Nominations for the Steering Committee are always open - please e-mail us to join up !  We will also be requesting all parents to volunteer for events in the registration materials.  There will also be a meeting on the Sunday morning of camp to discuss next year's camp!

Q. We never attended in the past.  Will that matter?

A. Absolutely not.  While there are many families that come every year and plan their summers around the camp, new families attend and are welcomed openly into the camp community every year.

Q. Will our family have fun?

A. Absolutely!  :)

Q. I still have questions - what should I do?

A. Send an e-mail to Terry at midwestichild@comcast.net
